Advisors:

Professor Dato’ Dr. Ibrahim Ahmad Bajunid is Deputy Vice Chancellor of the INTI Laureate International University; the President of the Malaysian Association of Educational Management and Leadership; and the former Director of the Regional Center for Educational Planning (UNESCO-RCEP), Al Sharjah, U.A.E., and the National Institute of Educational Management and Leadership (IAB), Malaysia. He is a Professor of Management, Education and the Social Sciences. He was a member of the Committee to study, review and make recommendations for the Reform on Higher Education in Malaysia.  Professor Bajunid has been appointed as a Member of the National Advisory Council for Education. He is Fellow of the Council of Educational Administration in Commonwealth Countries, Distinguished Fellow of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), Malaysia. He is the recipient of the National Educational Leadership Award, for distinguished and exemplary leadership across institutional, national and international contexts.

Professor Dato’ Dr. Ibrahim Ahmad Bajunid has been a key figure in the field of educational management and leadership in Malaysia for more than two and a half decades, and exercises many leadership roles and has provided consultancy services in policy-making governmental committees, private sector and NGOs. Professor Bajunid is the recipient of the “Tokoh Kepimpinan Pendidikan Kebangsaan” the National Educational Leadership Award, the highest Educational Leadership Award in Malaysia awarded only to a few individuals who have demonstrated distinguished and exemplary leadership across institutional, national and international contexts.

 

Professor Dr. Rosna Awang-Hashim is a Professor of Educational Psychology with the School of Education and Modern Languages, UUM College of Arts and Sciences, Universiti Utara Malaysia. She obtained her BA and MA degrees from the University of North Texas (UNT), and her PhD from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, USA. She has been teaching, and engaging in research since 1989 at UUM, with short overseas stints at the Institute for Social Research (ISR), University of Michigan, and Buck Institute for Education (BIE), California, USA. Her research interests include socio-psychological processes in teaching and learning interactions, learning engagement, non-experimental quantitative research with emphasis on causal modeling, and construction and validation of tests in cognitive–affective domains. She has published widely numerous papers on measurement, and learning & motivational issues in both local and international journals, and has been an invited speaker and panelist at various conferences at home and abroad. Rosna is the current Chief Editor of the SCOPUS listed Malaysian Journal of Learning and Instruction (MJLI).

Over the last 22 years at UUM, she had served as the Director, University Teaching and Learning Centre (UTLC), Dean of the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Education, founding Director of the Institute for Child and Adolescent Educational Advancement (IKRAK), and Self-Access Learning Project Director. Currently she is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Universiti Utara Malaysia. At the national level, Rosna is the Chair of the PSPTN Critical Agenda Project (CAP) in Teaching and Learning, the Secretary of the Cluster on Education and Development of Human Capital, National Council of Professors, Malaysia, and the Deputy Chair (II) of the Malaysian Psychometrics Association (MPA).

Associate Professor Dr. Abdul Malek Bin Haji Abdul Karim graduated from the University of Virginia, U.S. He is the Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the College of Arts and Sciences, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). He is also the Dean of the Awang Had Salleh Graduate School of Arts & Sciences of the university. He has vast experience as a lecturer and has held the positions of Dean of the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Education as well as Chairperson (Educational Studies) of the College of Arts & Sciences of UUM. Prior to that, he was the Director of the University Teaching and Learning Centre. He was also an Associate Professor for two years at Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST) in the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Abdul Malek’s professional interests lie in the area of the use of technology in education including managing technology resources for schools and higher education. He has been involved in a number of researches on soft skills development among graduates of Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia. He has also been a facilitator in workshops related to Instructional Technology and Research Methodology and has participated in various consultancy projects particularly for the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia. He is also active as an External Evaluator for Academic Promotion (Associate Professor) in both UUM and other local public universities. He is currently a member of the University Senate and has also led several local international conferences as chairman. Dr. Abdul Malek is a professional member of the Asia Pacific Chapter of the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE) and also the Malaysian Educational Research Association (MERA). He has received the UUM Excellence Service Award for 6 years and was also the award winner of the Research and Development Exposition 2003 in Kuala Lumpur. More recently, he won a silver medal at the 21st Invention Innovation & Technology Exhibition 2010.
