I am a professor of urban geography in Hiroshima University. My research fields are suburbs of Japanese metropolis and Indian mega-cities. I try to compare these countries. Especially, I am interested in urban development and in the changing process of urban development. In some Japanese metropolis, aging is rapidly proceeding in suburbs. These aging process will cause a large amount of vacant houses. And I also research the suburbs of Delhi which are growing rapidly. However I am afraid that Indian cities will also have urban problems in near future, because there are few redevelopment in urban core.
